A stakeholder update meeting is a structured session where project or programme leaders brief senior stakeholders on progress, risks, and upcoming milestones. The format is designed to convey the maximum amount of information in the minimum amount of time, keeping leadership informed without pulling them into operational detail.

The core principle is conciseness. Stakeholders are typically time-poor and attending multiple governance sessions each week.
